Spinal cord research campaigners have secured a piece of the hottest racing action in Australasia, with news that the connections of all conquering mare Black Caviar will support CatWalk's special fundraising dinner in Sydney on 8 April.

Black Caviar, currently boasting an unbeaten streak of 19 races on the trot, will be at the centre of celebrations during Sydney’s Fools & Horses champagne event, hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The connections of the champion mare are donating a very special Champagne Breakfast experience to be auctioned at the dinner, a rare chance for direct involvement with the most talked about horse in the world.

All funds raised at the event will go towards finding a cure for Spinal Cord Injury and the organising committee are delighted by the early response.

The Spinal Cord Injury Network of Australia and The CatWalk Trust are collaborating on this evening with the ultimate aim to help Australasia take giant steps towards finding a cure for SCI.

The evening is designed around a comedy debate discussing the topic - Only Fools and Horses Work. Some of Australasia’s foremost intellectuals will be at the center of this including Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody.

“One person a day across both countries suffers a life altering SCI, at a cost of $2.2 billion annually. I am delighted, and I know the owners of Black Caviar are too, to be able to support a great cause that could affect any of us at any time…I’ll be fine-tuning my debating skills over the next few weeks so be prepared!” says Moody.

Interestingly, the highest incidence of injury is in men between the ages of 22 and 44.

Renowned media personality, Peter FitzSimons, will MC the event while a number of other notable Australians have also confirmed their involvement.
