Catriona Williams’ illustrious equestrian career saw her reach the pinnacle of the show jumping and three-day event world. She represented New Zealand on the international stage at Badminton and the Open European Championships with the key target being the 2004 Athens Olympics.
After a devastating horse-riding accident in November 2002, Catriona was left a C6/C7 tetraplegic.
Following Catriona’s injury, a collection of friends and colleagues gathered together with the initial plan to raise funds for her. However, the bigger picture quickly became clear. A cure for all was Catriona’s dream, and in 2005, The CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust was founded. With Catriona leading the way, the Trust has raised in excess of $1.5 million for spinal cord injury research.
"I want to do things, not have things."
