Meet 'On Yer Feet'...

Ian MacDonald, an Auzzie supporter who is confined to a wheelchair, and his son Lachlan purchased a beautiful chestnut filly from the 2011 Karaka Sales.
She was Lot 394, Cambridge Stud’s daughter of Snitzel and Lady Firebird - now aptly named ON YER FEET - you'll see why....
Ian and his co-owner Peter Hart, will very generously gift 50% of all gross profits from the racing and breeding of On Yer Feet to The CatWalk Trust.
Scientists working on Spinal Cord Injury can only benefit from this gesture, which means that CatWalk can continue to dedicate even more time and energy to supporting research.
Thank you team MacDonald/Hart and good luck with your lovely girl!!!

CatWalk would like to thank the fantastic group of New Zealanders who are also supporting by providing the infrastructure needed to get this girl to the races:

BLOG UPDATE
From the Horse's Mouth...
4 March 2013
I am back!
Just on the QT I had a little run on Friday in the jump outs at Awapuni with Bridget Grylls. Lisa was really happy with my run - I heard her telling someone, "she settled sixth on the outside before angling out on straightening to run home nicely for third about a length from the winner."
Yes, that's right, first run in months and I got third! I was quite pleased with myself!!
I am now heading for Hawera on Monday 11th March for the R65 1200m and thenWanganui on Thursday 28th March for the R65 F&M 1340m. Put the dates in your diaries!!
30 Jan 2013
Phew, how about this weather!
What a summer holiday I've had - out in the paddock at Lincoln Lodge having a rest in the sun. I've had a chance to really let down and strengthen up and I'm feeling good. Lisa says I'm looking "nice and bright" (pretty good considering how I've relaxed over Christmas!)
I am back at the stables now and apparently about to start work again. Lisa reckons I should "be ready to rock and roll in the autumn when the tracks start to ease". Sounds good to me!!
19 Dec 2012
Phew, how's this weather!
Let's hope it holds for Christmas. I am enjoying my rest and will slowly ease back into work once the humans around me stop eating and drinking long enough to give me a hand! And then I'll be back in touch once we're up and running again in the New Year...
Have a great Christmas, don't forget the carrots for Santa's reindeer and your own horses and here's to lots of good running in 2013!
18 Nov 2012
I'm having a freshen up for summer
OK, I admit, my last result was a bit disappointing. I got hampered by another runner just as I was looking to mount my run and then I missed my chance (quite literally, the horse had bolted!)
The disappointment has made me a bit blue and Lisa said I was looking "a bit dull in my coat" so she's given me a couple of weeks off to freshen up in the paddock and kick up my hooves in the sunshine.
My co-owner Peter Hart was kind enough to get in touch after the race to say he still thinks I am "a beautiful little horse" so, with compliments like this and a bit of R&R, I'll be back on top form in no time!!
4 Nov 2012
Can't get to Melbourne for Cup Day tomorrow?
Come to Otaki instead!!
Celebrate Cup Day in style and join me at the Otaki Races tomorrw (Tuesday 6th) where I will be in Race 5 at 2.42pm, the Rating 65 Fillies and Mares 1200m. After all, after Melbourne, isn't Otaki the obvious next choice?!
I have drawn 4 our of 8 and will have Jonathan Parkes on board.
Lisa seems to be happy with my condition and work going into the race so hooves crossed it'll be a goodie. The more of you that are cheering me on the better though!
Have a great cup day!
7 October 2012
Hi Team,
I'm racing today! I am in Race 2 at Woodville starting at 1.44pm - the 3yo 1200m. I have drawn 8 of 11 and will have Robbie Hannam on board.
Training has been going well but I'll need you all backing me today and a bit of luck. There's some strong competition and, in the end, raceday experience might prove the difference when the pressure is on.
I would like a Dead track so keep your fingers and hooves crossed for me.
This is leading up to the 3yo fillies 1400m race at Trentham on Saturday 27th October but I'll be back in touch before then.....
18 Sept 2012
Hi Team,
The Otaki Trials!! I ran in an Open 1000m heat of five runners with Kelly Myers aboard. The track was very Heavy and I drew out so Kelly was happy to sit three wide just off the pace. I improved as we straightened to challenge for the lead and went down narrowly although the winner lead all the way and did have me covered.
Most importantly it was a much improved performance than Foxton and on a similar track so I obviously wasn’t 100% but am right back on track now.
If it looked as though the ‘fire’ might be out of the track on the last day of the Hastings Triple Crown (Sat 6th Oct), then I may head to the Rating 65 1200m ($20k). Otherwise I’ll head to Woodville on Monday 8th October for the 3yo 1200m ($7k). Either of those races will be the lead up to the 3yo fillies 1400m race at Trentham on Saturday 27th October ($25k).
I will update you again early in the first week of October with what is looking most likely i.e. Hastings or Woodville.
13 Sept 2012
Great news! I'm feeling HEAPS better - in fact I'm feeling so good that Lisa tells me if I continue to improve I'm off to the Otaki Trials next Tuesday! I'll keep you posted with race info.
5 Sept 2012
So Foxton Meet wasn't my thing. Lisa tells me I didn’t bounce back like I normally would after the trial last week so she ran a blood test to make sure everything was 100%. It showed my white blood count wasn't right so I'm on a course of light antibiotics and ventipulmin powders to help get me back on track. I thought I was feeling a bit off!
27 August 2012
Change of plans!!!
Foxton RC Trial Meeting Put Back a Day to Wed 29th - 28/08/12
Following consultation between NZTR, the Central Region Programming Committee & Foxton RC, the trials programmed for Foxton today, Tuesday 28 August, have been put back one day & will now be held on Wednesday 29 August. The decision has been made as a result of there being surface water on the track but it is hoped that with the forecast for clearing weather over the next 24 hours the rescheduled programme will be able to proceed.
The same fields as were previously drawn will be retained.
27 August 2012
I'm at the Foxton Trials today!!
Heat 4 at 11.36am, the Open Catchweight 1000m
Wish me luck!!!
23 August 2012
The rain's causing problems!! This is what I've just been told...
Foxton RC Trials – Tuesday 21 August – Postponed & Re-Scheduled
Following consultation between the Club, the RIU, the Central Regional Programming Committee & NZTR, the trials programmed for Foxton RC on Tuesday 21 August have been postponed & have now been re-programmed. The decision to cancel the meeting was made on the basis that the racing surface is currently waterlogged & with the weather forecast for the next 24 hours predicting more heavy rainfall in the area.
The trials will now take place on Tuesday 28 August & nominations will close 12 noon Monday 27 August. Those who nominated originally for the postponed meeting will need to re-nominate.
13 August 2012
TRIAL TIME!!
As long as the track is ok, I am having a trial on Friday, 17 August at Foxton.
It sounds like it will be a good quiet trial to bring me on nicely.
9 July 2012
I am having my first gallop back tomorrow. Lisa is confident I will be ready for a jump-out or trial within the next couple of weeks.
Hopefully this rain disappears – its playing havoc with my hair!
20 June 2012
I returned to the racing stable earlier on this month and have settled back in well - it’s as if I never left the place. The break did me the world of good and I have strengthened up noticeably – oh yes, everyone has noticed!! Lisa tells me I should be ready for a jumpout by the end of July targeting the early 3yo filly races. I’ll let you know my ‘schedule’ as soon as Lisa has it confirmed next month.
5 June 2012
I've had a lovely break and am now starting to get back into some work. After seeing my chiropractor last week and having some minor adjustments, Lisa is aiming to have me out of the stable and back into training within the next three weeks. I can't wait to get back into it! I'll let you all know what my 'schedule' looks like asap.
29 March 2012
This time out is great! Nice to have some ME time and focus on kicking back and relaxing. With the mornings getting dark (and cold!) I'm enjoying the extra sleep in's - must dash, Lisa tells me lunch is ready....Oh its a hard life .....
21 March 2012
Saturday wasn't my day. Darryl (my rider) didn't think I was comfortable on what was a pretty firm track. Plans for the Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes have been aborted and I have gone to the spelling paddock for a month or so to freshen up. I've had six starts now so I'm looking forward to a bit of 'me' time. The word from Lisa is a break now means I'll be ready to race later on in the season. There are a couple of ‘Listed’ races late on in the 2yo season that I'm really keen to run in. I'll also be able to hit the ground running with the early 3yo filly races when the tracks will still be off.
Thanks for all the support guys.
6 March 2012
I WON I WON I WON !!!!!!
Yes, you heard me right, I WON! So delighted, so proud, so well deserved! At Hastings on Saturday I won my first race. Although the winning margin wasn’t a big one, I did it pretty easily with Darryl (my rider) keeping my mind on the job - especially with the tricky underfoot conditions. The rain was terrrible! I even made it into The Informant - click here for the link.
Lisa tells me I have pulled up very well and she will decide early next week whether we head to the 2yo 1200m ($20k) race at Trentham Saturday week. Then I will be taking on the Group One Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes 1400m ($225k) at Awapuni on Saturday 31stMarch.
And in a very significant pedigree update, my close relative Mosheen then stepped up later on in the day to take out the Group One Australian Guineas in emphatic style. Lady Firebird, the dam of me, On Yer Feet, is a ¾ sister to Sumehra who is the dam of Mosheen.
So Saturday was a very good day in more ways than one.
29 February 2012
I'm off and I'm racing!! On Saturday I'm off to run in the Hastings Races. I'm in Race 1 at 12.25pm where I have drawn 2 of 6 with the lovely Darryl Bradley riding me. I worked very well on Tuesday according to Lisa, but the main concern is not me, but the forecast! Heavy rain has been predicted from Friday night onwards. At least I'll get first use of the track if it ends up rain affected and I now have lots of raceday experience! Come down and show your support.
22 February 2012
I did so well at New Plymouth last week! I finished less than two lengths from the winner in what was a pretty roughly run race over the final stages. I have taken no harm from the race and will have my next start in the 2yp 1200m at Hastings on Saturday 3rdMarch. Lisa tells me this could be my final lead up to the Group I Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes 1400m on Saturday 31stMarch. A start in that race will depend on how I perform in Hastings.
I'll let you all know my raceday details for Hastings as soon as they are available next week. All fingers and hooves crossed!!!
15 February 2012
RACE TIME!! I'm off to New Plymouth on Saturday to run a 'Listed' Race. Apparently, being a Black Type race is very important to future boyfriends - sorry 'breeding prospects' - so bring it on! While I'm already priceless, Lisa tells me a race mare who acheives Black Type status is far more valuable. Fancy that.
Now, back to the race. I'm going head to head with the winner of the Karaka Million, the Anthony Fredman trained 'Ockham's Razor'. He's my biggest competition. I'm confident, and so is Lisa that my sexy legs will do me proud. Lisa says I have freshened up well from my 10 days in the paddock and she can’t fault me going into the race.
I'm in Race 6 at 3.16pm, the Group III 2yo 1200m. I have drawn 6 of 10 with Darryl Bradley to ride. The track should end up around the Dead to Good range which should suit me either way
Come and watch - have a flutter. I'll give you all a run down next week on how I go.
9 February 2012
I'm having a great time back with my old mate Lisa. Racing was a blast, but its hard work! I wanted you all to see the photo of me and my jockey at Trentham. Thanks for the photo Trish Dunell! Arn't we gorgeous!!! You've got to love the colours - oh and his silks are pretty cool too! Many thanks to NZ Racing Wear. See you all next week.

26 January 2012
Plan A was the Karaka Millions but, like all good plans do, we've shifted focus and are onto Plan B... apparently I've got "talent" so now we just need a little luck in the running.
Unfortunately I missed out on the Little Avondale Stud Wakefield Stakes which is a shame as I know Sam Williams would have loved to hand a cheque over to CatWalk!
I'm off in the float today for a freshen up on a Spelling Farm (Day Spa for horses). The legs are a bit weary but according to Lisa I'll bounce back not a problem.
Thanks for your support everyone.
19 January 2012
Next Race Day is this Saturday, 21 January, at Trentham.
Race 3 @ 1:50p.m.
LITTLE AVONDALE STUD WAKEFIELD CHALLENGE STAKES (GROUP II)
2YO SW 1200m $85,000
Click here for the full Race Draw.
Little Avondale Stud have dug deep and are hoping that the main purse will be heading in CatWalk's direction.
A huge and very special thanks to Lisa Latta. Thanks to her very hard work and incredible support, On Yer Feet looks a million bucks... and wouldn't it be nice to bank that amount for SCI research!
Watch this space team... next thing you know, On Yer Feet could be lining up in the Karaka Million!!
12 January 2012
Get your glad rags on.... TRENTHAM Saturday, 21 January
It’s playtime trackside at the Trentham Wine & Racing Festival on Saturday 21 January.
A sensational match of fine wines, great food and live music topped off with the Carnival's best racing with 5 black type races commencing at approximately 12.40pm including me - On Yer Feet - running in the LITTLE AVONDALE STUD Group Two Wakefield Challenge Stakes ($100,000).
If I finish in the first 2, there's a chance I'll run in the Karaka Million - GIDDYUP!!
A special thanks to my newest supporters - NZ Thoroughbred Racing Inc. and NZ Racing Wear for your generosity. The CatWalk girls are so grateful for your contributions.
5 January 2012
Here's what you need to know:
Woodville Saturday, Race 4 at 2.03pm.
Race Name: Banbry’s Water Treadmill Juvenile 2YO Hcp 1100m $10,000.
On Yer Feet is No.9 Barrier 1 with Kelly Myers on board.
It's a strong field with a number of Karaka Sales Graduates aiming for the Karaka Million qualification.
Come along and show your support!!
29 December 2011
My next race date has been set! I run at Woodville on Saturday 7th January and it's a MUST WIN!! Please come along and support me, it would be great to have some big cheers from the crowd.
I have to win to make the cut for the Karaka Million race @ Ellerslie on Sunday 29th January. If I come 2nd I may get through, but only time will tell...
Lisa said I'm looking and feeling great. Fingers and hooves crossed everyone.
21 December
Race One down! I ran my first race on Saturday at Awapuni. I did wonderfully! In my maiden race, I came 4th. The talk from the track was that it was an excellent learning experience and I came through the race well. My next start will be at Woodville on Saturday 7thJanuary in the 2yo 1100m. Thank you to David Jewell and Vaine Strickland and the wonderful team at NZTR for waiving all fees. Come see me run if you're around on the 7th!
15 December
OK, I know you all want to see what I can do so here's the essential info for you to follow my big debut:
I am number 13 in Race 2 at Awapuni on Saturday 17th, running at 12.45pm. It is the NZ Bloodstock 2yo Premier race, I am going to be ridden by Robert Hannam who will be dashing in purple (obviously I'll outshine him though!) and we have drawn barrier 6.
See http://www.nzracing.co.nz/Meetings/Meeting.aspx/39780#raceLink2 for all my competitors and more information about the day.
I would love to see some CatWalk supporters on Saturday but if you can't make it to Palmerston North, hopefully you can catch me on TV.
Wish me luck - I'm off! I've got to be honest, I'm a little nervous but it's very exciting knowing this is what it's all been leading up to.
14 December
I have big news..... I WON!!! Had my jump outs in Levin yesterday and I won "comfortably" (Sam said). I was pretty pleased with myself and I think everyone else was too judging by the responses I got afterwards! As a result of this I am very excited to announce that I will be off and racing for the first time on Saturday 17th December at Awapuni as part of the Hotel Coachman Manawatu Cup Raceday. I'll be racing over 1000m in the 2 year old premier group and apparently it's a $15,000 race (although that means very little to me - I'm only interested in carrots!) Come down and watch if you're around Palmy - like all girls, I love a fan club! I'll update you all tomorrow with race time etc .....
Catch you all next week and watch out for me on the TV.
6 December
Jumpout Time!!! I’m back to Levin for the jumpouts tomorrow – yay! Lisa tells me I’m showing lots of speed, fantastic! If you are around Levin, racing starts at 9am. We don’t have my specific race time yet so at this stage it could be any time after 9am. According to Lisa, I came through my jumpout just over a fortnight ago in GREAT shape. I'll be running over the same distance tomorrow, and I’m feeling really confident. Watch this space ....
29 November
The jumpouts were great! I ran in a heat of four runners with Darryl Bradley aboard on a Dead track. I drew the inside and jumped well to lead easily and kept up a strong gallop on straightening to win comfortably by a couple of lengths. Darryl was pleased with my effort and said I have alot of natural speed but is still learning my trade. I'm pretty happy with that.
Lisa told me if I pull up okay over the next couple of days and she is happy with me, I will return to the next lot of Jumpouts back at Levin in a fortnight or if need be, wait for the Otaki Trials on Tuesday 20thDecember.
Safely through either of those assignments, I should be ready to head to the races after that.
Catch you all next week, On Yer Feet
22 November
JUMPOUT TIME!!!
I'm in Heat 2 at 9.15am, the 2yo 850m. I'll let you know how I get on but if you're in Levin, come and watch me.
Wish me luck!!!
16 November
What a week I’ve had. I dropped a rider! It was nothing personal, I’d just had enough. I galloped all the way home and was told off severely by Lisa when I got there! Apparently I’m getting rather full of myself (so I was told)!
I’m off to my next Jump Outs within the next fortnight. These are in Levin. Might be worth a look – I’m getting pretty fast.
Catch you all next week
9 November
The hard work has begun…
My new best mate, Kelly Myers rode me this week and I was like lightening! I looked great and felt like I knew what I was doing. Kelly and Lisa thought I was showing excellent speed and am much improved. I am delighted!
Catch you all next week,
2 November
Hi Guys
Another week into training and I’m starting to shape up. Lisa is really impressed with my muscles and how I’m strengthening up. Brilliant! I have a run scheduled for tomorrow and I’m starting some pace work – I’m starting to sound like a professional working girl!
On Friday I am being visited by my wonderful friend Peter Hart. I can’t wait to show him my moves!
Catch you all next week.
27 October
Life at Awapuni is getting busy for me. All Lisa will talk about is fitness, fitness, fitness. Apparently, mine needs to be increased?? Another 10 days and I’ll be at a standard Lisa is happy with thank goodness! Other than that rather sensitive topic, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m looking great and enjoying life.
Catch you all next week
19 October
I’ve had a pretty easy week, just getting back into work slowly with some pace work. Lisa, quite rudely, mentioned I need to get my fitness back up – too much time off swanning around at Little Avondale apparently!
I guess that means its ‘head down bum up’ for me. Catch you all next week.
14 October
I have left the tranquil and relaxing pastures of LA Stud and am back with my buddy Lisa Latta. I overheard her saying that I have "grown, filled out and am looking good".... thanks Lisa - you're not too bad yourself!
They've given me some new shoes - they're not quite Jimmy Choo but seem to do the trick when I'm down on the track.
One thing I have noticed is there seems to be a lot of chat around the place about a groin injury? I keep hearing murmurings about "replacements"... and "third-string"...? You'll all be delighted to hear that my groin is in tip-top condition so there's no need for anyone to be concerned.
Here's a wee snap of me leaving LA last week... not bad huh!!?
Catch you all next week
7 October
Hi Guys, I'm still hanging out at LA - waiting on the truck to pick me up and take me back to Lisa Latta. I'm getting excited about seeing my old mate Lisa and getting back into some work. My holiday has been fantastic, hanging out with Sam and the team at LA. They have all told me that I'll be missed, and you know what, I'll miss them too! Thanks for having me guys, its been a blast!
30 September
Hi Guys, with the temperatures warming up and daylight savings now here, life is pretty cruisey here in my paddock at LA Stud. Lots of little babies running around the paddocks keeping me entertained.
More than likely I'll be heading back to Palmerston North to my BFF Lisa Latta next Friday. Apparently four weeks holiday is enough for me??!!
At least this will allow me enough time to qualify for the Karaka Millions at the end of January.
23 September
Hi Everyone. I’ve spent this week just hanging out with my new mate Shahiid. He’s the good looking chap I mentioned last week. The girls tell me I’m doing well – not much to this ‘down time’. I’m loving this mild weather -bring on spring and all that lush green grass!
My two little splints have hardened nicely, and I’m almost ready to wave good bye to LA and say “Hello Lisa”. While the break has been fantastic, I’m starting to miss work . I'm looking forward to getting back into it over the next couple of weeks.
16 September
Guys, I have a name! I am proud to introduce myself as ……”On Yer Feet”!
Isn’t it fantastic!! I am delighted. Thank you to Adrienne Hussey who thought of this gem. A cool Icebreaker Hoodie is on its way! Some other outstanding suggestions were “Wheely Wheely Fast”, by Annie Waters and “Strike a Cord”, by Annalie Brown. Thank you so much to all (and I mean the hundreds of you) who entered. Fantastic!
Now, back to business. I’m here at Little Avondale and am told (no surprise) that I look great and am behaving really well. I have a boyfriend in the paddock with me. He’s rather cute but a fraction too small – I’m at least two stone heavier than him and girls, we all know that’s not such a great look! Pssssss he’s a gelding!!
8 September
Hi Everyone, I arrived back in the sunny Wairarapa on Monday to hang out at LA with Sam, Catriona and the LA team. The weather’s been great, the food is good, and I’m enjoying my holiday. And the best news I received this week is that my name is about to be announced! Apparently it’s a goodie. I can’t wait to hear what it is…..
1 September
I am delighted to inform you all I have had my first Jumpout! I went to Levin on Wednesday and ran in a 600 metre two year old heat. It was me and six others and what a blast! I had Robbie Hannam aboard and according to him, the track was pretty ‘testing’ despite the spell of good weather we have had. Ok, I’ll be honest, I missed the jump, BUT I am told this is VERY typical for a first jumpout. After I got over my nerves, I did everything right and feel like I go so much out of it – plus it’s great to have that first one under my belt.
I have a couple of little splints forming on my legs so I’ve been given a holiday pass for the next month to let them settle down. I heard a rumour I’m off back to LA to hang out and relax with Sam and Cat. Bring on the R and R!
23 August
Hi Everyone - what a busy girl I've been! I have had my head down, bum up training hard. Lisa keeps telling me I'm gorgeous (no surprises there) and that I'm improving every day. Next Wednesday I am having my first 'jumpout' in Levin (weather depending) and based on how this goes, I'll be off to the paddock for a month. I can't wait!!
4 August
What a week I've had! My first (of many I'm told) 'sprint up' went great. Lisa tells me I'm fantastic and going from strength to strength. This terrible weather isn't worrying me and I am coming along very nicely thank you! On a personal level I was wormed this week - not an unpleasent experience to be honest.
My name is nearly sorted - yay! Out of over 500 entries - yes, thats right, OVER 500 ENTRIES, the CatWalk girls have selected the top 50. They all sound great and worthy of a girl of my calibre. The winner will be announced soon. Thank you everyone who entered. I've been told some of the names gave the CatWalk girls a real giggle!
19 July 2011
Stable life at Awapuni suits me down to the ground! Lisa Latta is a great lady although she does expect a lot of exercise!!
Each morning we go for a wee jog around the track - I've heard Lisa call it "trotting". I have a few aching muscles to show for all these workouts but the rewards are paying off as my legs are looking pretty darn svelte... and they call Elle MacPherson "the body"...
I also have a new very special friend to support my dream of taking out the Karaka Million! Peter Hart has come on-board as a new co-owner (he must have heard about my legs). Thanks so much for your support Peter and welcome to the team... race you to the finish line!!!
12 July 2011
Well look at me, haven't I grown! Unfortunately it has been raining here all night, it's 7.30 in the morning and John Kenny has sent his green Majestic truck down to pick me up. I am off to Lisa Latta's stable in Palmerston North and I can't wait to go around and around and around at Awapuni! Sam tells me that I am starting to get a bit chubby, hence why I am off to go and do some exercise. I will be there for about six to eight weeks but I will keep you informed on a weekly basis of my progress. Watch these curves turn to muscle.
PS - I believe there have been literally hundreds of names suggested, thank you so much ...we'll be in touch shortly with the top 3 so you can vote on your favourite!
June 2011
Hi Everyone, the Beatson boys were great, I learnt so much there. I’m now at Little Avondale Stud on holiday – wahoooo! I’ve been here for about a month and last week had my feet done. I’ve been moved to the paddock right beside the front gate which is awesome as I get to chat to the mailman every morning. Apparently Sam Williams, the boss here at LA Stud is contemplating sending me off to fat camp...in other word I might have to do some exercise soon! Oh no...
April 2011
School with Sam and Jamie is fantastic…I’ve been mouthed, long reined and ridden out on the track all by myself…I’m about to get friends to go on the track with which will test my concentration span…two more weeks with these guys brushing up on all this cool new knowledge and then I wonder what we do next ????
March 2011
I had another cruizy ride with the Majestic team; it truly is the Rolls Royce of transporters I reckon! They delivered me to Jamie and Sam Beatson’s for some ‘breaking in’. I’m loving all this learning, I’m sure I’m top of the class being a redhead gal and all! Had this thing on my back the other day I heard them say it as a saddle…that's to help the jockey stay on when we go really fast on the track I think!!!
March 2011
Well I’ve overheard Dean having a natter on the one to the Beatson boys and it looks like my days of just being being pampered are coming to an end…I’m going to their yard to be broken in which means getting used to having someone on my back. They’ll teach me a whole bunch of things but the most important thing will be adjusting to having a jockey aboard…kinda like going to pre-school. I’m hoping it’s not just the teachers that get given apples at this school!

I’ve arrived safely at Dean Hawthorne’s after a cruizy ride in a Majestic Horse Float…I was chatting up the opposition along the way and already have them beat …they think a redhead with white sox is a pushover…well just you wait and see! Dean is feeding me really well and I overheard him say that “…I’m a good mover”…and we all know what an excellent judge he is. Keep checking in as I promise to keep you up to date with ALL the goss!
