Rebecca Beatson

Rebecca Beatson is from a legal family with interests in both thoroughbred racing and the sport of Eventing.

A former young rider herself, Rebecca graduated from Victoria University with a BA and LLB, following which she practised law in Auckland, Nelson and Wellington.

In Wellington she worked for the Crown Prosecutor, undertaking jury trials in the District and High Courts.

Following the birth of her first child in 2000, Rebecca commenced practice as a Barrister and also began work on a Masters degree.

She specialises in medical law and has appeared before the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council in London in that field.

Rebecca is married to Barrister Andrew Beatson and has three daughters, Georgia, Sophie and Alexa.
