
The New Zealand Brain Bee Challenge, launched in 2007, encourages high school students to take an interest in the human brain and neuroscience and CatWalk has been a supporter of this event since it began.
The North Island Brain Bee Final hosted by the Centre for Brain Research was held on 3 July and the South Island Final at the University of Otago.
180 students from around the North Island attended at the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland on the 3 July 2019 and ~80 students from the South Island attended at the University of Otago to take part in teams and Individual competitions to select the North Island and South Island regional winners. Both winners now go onto to compete for the title of NZ Brain Bee champion later this year at the Australasian Neuroscience Society meeting in Adelaide, with the champion going onto the International competition
