The CatWalk Trust hosted its LUMINARY event on June 22, a night of glamour and generosity dedicated to advancing research and treatment for spinal cord injuries. Held at the prestigious Ellerslie Event Centre, the event was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, alongside renowned supporters Richie and Gemma McCaw, and Henrietta Duchess of Bedford, among other distinguished guests.
The highlight of the evening was the outstanding live auction run by renowned auctioneer Steve Davis. Special emphasis was placed on the exceptional contributions from Rich Hill Stud and Newgate Stud, whose nominations of PROISIR and CAPITALIST respectively garnered significant attention and support.
“We are immensely grateful to Jarden Wealth, Auckland Thoroughbred Racing, Rich Hill Stud, Newgate Stud, and all our donors for their unwavering support,” said Catriona Williams, founder of the CatWalk Trust. “Their contributions are instrumental in driving the breakthroughs needed to improve the lives of those affected by spinal cord injuries.”
The event brought together a community of dedicated supporters whose collective efforts are vital to the ongoing mission of the CatWalk Trust. The evening featured a range of activities, including a silent auction, entertainment, and opportunities for guests to engage with the cause.
Kiwis are renowned for their innovation and creativity, and every single spinal cord injury research breakthrough is life-changing, improving health, independence, dignity, and relationships. The funds raised during the LUMINARY event will directly support cutting-edge research initiatives and pioneering treatment approaches, bringing hope and progress to those living with spinal cord injuries.
Still, CatWalkers refuse to settle for less than the best, and we will not rest until we have a cure.
